My Story

PB, (she, her) has a wealth of leadership experience spanning multiple industries.  She is a certified D&I professional and has transitioned her experience as a coach, mentor/advocate into the cause of creating more diverse, inclusive, and equitable opportunities and guiding today’s leaders to embrace “inclusive leadership” skills as the Founder of YGIS Group LLC and executive coach. During her 28+ year career in corporate America, she was often the only ONE for both gender and ethnicity. She learned early on in her career to Invest in Oneself and expand professional networks as a “springboard” to her career advancement. Always ready to chart her development strategies for continuous learning and leaning into what is uncomfortable.  Her passion and commitment to passing on her knowledge; experiences; and coaching/mentoring others regardless of their race, gender, or background is integral to her brand. She has long viewed her work as more than a job. It is a calling. With a keen and instinctive awareness of DEIB (Diversity Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging) she wields her expertise to assess, evaluate, and educate while adopting a holistic approach to form meaningful connections, inspire teams, and help position leaders elevate their organizations. Most recently during her tenure at a Fortune 100 company, she held corporate leadership roles within the WE (Women’s & Allies) ERG charged with expanding the ERG footprint domestically and internationally.  She was viewed as a corporate sponsor advancing DEI initiatives at the corporate and field operation level.  She coordinated ERG/DEI initiatives creating bridges for allyship and advocacy, instituting a model in which the 6 Corporate ERG’s partnered, aligned, and supported employees at the Seattle Campus. She furthers her engagement in corporate DE&I transformation as a member of the “Men As Allies” committee, focused on expanding the “men in power” understanding of inequalities that exist for Women and POC and their role in making a difference.  In addition to being a mentor, educator, specialist, and expert in her field, she’s served as a leader and board member on multiple councils, including the national BIG I Diversity Council, YearUP-Seattle, and the University of Washington Foster School of Business–Consulting and Business Development Center.  She is driven by her desire to “give back” to the next generation and the power that exists when everyone has the equal opportunity to engage, express themselves, and realize their highest potential. Always looking for opportunities for improvement in the DE&I space, she sponsored and coordinated the first national Women of Color summit in the fall of 2020, which focused on “humanizing” (DE&I) data points while creating reciprocal learning for C-suite and senior leadership for the advancement of women of color.

PB was married for 42 years. PB is the mother of two amazing daughters, and a grandmother of two energetic grandchildren. The values gleaned from her community, family, church, and faith have sculpted the title she is most proud of “A Servant Leader”. She realized early on that life is about what you do for others, and by utilizing her gifts as a coach, mentor, advocate, & sponsor, she is creating a legacy to be proud of.                                                                            “It’s only what you DO for OTHERS that lasts beyond a lifetime!”
